My Experience

There are several ingredients which I believe contribute to the partnership between therapist and client and the most important one is the therapeutic relationship. This is the foundation of my work with a client and essential in building trust and respect. Clients may often arrive distressed or disturbed and it is the first few steps in the relationship which start to build a collaborative partnership which enables the work to happen. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, my approach or way of working is based on the belief that our development as children can shape us as adults and that our early relationships have a profound effect on how we form our beliefs and attitudes about ourselves and others. Often through therapy, we can discover that these beliefs can be false. Learning to challenge our thoughts can very life-changing and empowering, and free us to live and feel differently about ourselves.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw from a range of approaches and theories which include, Person Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. With training, as well as my experience spanning over 7 years, I’m able to offer I’m able to work with, low self-esteem, low mood, feeling directionless, family relationship issues, dissatisfaction, workaholism, addictions, trauma, OCD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm, and sexual abuse. I also have a special interest in ADHD, and work with people coming to terms with a diagnosis, or how to manage life with ADHD, or individuals who think that they have it. I do not diagnose, but I’m able to steer you in the right direction to get a diagnosis.
